Barbara Takenaga : "Shaker Blue": 2004
Color litho/silkscreen/hand coloring : 24 x 20" : Ed. 25 : $1500

How to purchase

This dense image is a swirling, cosmic composition that implies deep space and motion. Composed of a galaxy of spheres ranging in size from pinhead to egg-sized, the spheres are organized by size and color radiating from the center of the image. The richness of the bright colors against a deep black background produces an optical effect that is almost psychedelic. “Shaker Blue” is a six-color lithograph and silkscreen with hand coloring. It has been printed by hand from five aluminum plates and one silkscreen in an edition of 25, plus proofs on white Rives BFK paper 24 x 20”.
